August was a milestone month for us. It marked the one year anniversary of Roger’s retirement from Northwest Airlines and the beginning of our assignment with Cadence International. It marked the 6 month anniversary of our arrival in Germany and the 4 month anniversary of the opening of the Hangar. In those 4 months we have had over 800 Air Force personnel for dinner and Bible study. We have had more than 50 people stay overnight with us for one night or up to a week. We have taken 55 airmen and families on outings around Germany. For all of this we praise God for His provision and protection. |

And finally, we celebrated our 37th wedding anniversary in August. It was sobering for us to realize that we have been married longer than most of the kids who come to the Hangar have been alive! But it enabled us to recognize the value of our ministry here and the privilege and responsibility we have to model our faith and the biblical values by |

In addition, August was exciting because of two groups of partners from the States who came to experience the ministry first hand. The first group was 6 members from our home church in Michigan who did an “extreme makeover” on one of the bedrooms, stripped wallpaper and painted another room, and trimmed bushes and pulled weeds from sun up to sun down. The Hangar and grounds have never looked so good! Our second work team spent their time cooking and removing tile from one of our bathrooms in need of renovation. The presence and hard work of these friends from the States was a blessing to the military community and an encouragement to us personally. Besides that, they thoroughly enjoyed themselves and loved meeting some of the young airmen and seeing some of Germany. We have a third work team scheduled for the end of September, but after that the calendar is wide open!! |

which we live. It confirmed to us that we are exactly where we should be for this season of our lives, doing the work which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Ephesians 2:10) In His name, Rog & Sheila |
